Melissa Heitzenrater-Beichner

Melissa M. Heitzenrater-Beichner is the Conductor of both the Elementary (7-9) and Intermediate (10-12) choruses of the Young People's Chorus of Erie. Melissa teaches  vocal and general music in the North East School District in North East, PA, where she also directs the Vineyard Vocalists, musical, and middle school bell choir.  A 2008 graduate of Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA, she earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Education, summa cum laude, with a concentration in piano and voice. Melissa has performed in master classes with composer Robert Vandall, and concert pianist Sarah Davis Buechner, and has been featured as a soloist with the North East Choral Club and Mercyhurst College Concert Choir.  She has traveled extensively with the Mercyhurst College Tour Choir, and has participated in concerts in Italy, Poland, Ireland, and Honduras. She has previously served as the Talent Coordinator and Mistress of Ceremonies for the Lakewood Area Junior Miss Program.
