Auditions & Enrollment
YPC Erie is open to all young people ages 7-18 who are able to match pitch and express a genuine interest in singing. Although YPC Erie does charge tuition, scholarships are available by application. No one will be turned away due to inability to pay.
Each singer will be asked to sing a song of his/her choice (without accompaniment) and will be asked to sing some basic musical patterns. In addition, parents and potential choristers will have a brief interview with YPC Erie staff.
Chorus Divisions
Cantare: Caitlin Henning, conductor
Training ensemble for beginning to intermediate singers. Choristers learn fundamental musical & vocal skills, and gain the necessary preparation for the advanced YPC experience.
Rehearses Thursdays, 4:30-6:30pm
Young Men's Chorus: Jason Bishop, conductor
For young men with changed or changing voices who demonstrate the maturity, skill, and preparation required for a more advanced choral experience.
Rehearses Tuesdays & Wednesdays, 4:30-6:30pm
Concert Chorus: Jason Bishop, conductor
For treble singers (girls, and boys with unchanged voices) who demonstrate the maturity, skill, and preparation required for a more advanced choral experience.
